This last Friday and Saturday more than 100 American White Pelicans descended on Force Lake, a great birding spot in N. Portland. Unfortunately, those birds have now moved on, but many of the shorebirds remain! Brodie adds that possible future locations of the pelicans as they migrate include Sauvie Island (Sturgeon Lake), and Commonwealth Lake. Essentially any large body of water west or south of Portland.
